Rakon’s products keep the world’s networks, satellites and data centres in time, and this role is about bringing the same precision to the numbers behind them.
Rakon is a global leader in frequency control and timing solutions. Since joining Bourns, a family-owned US electronics manufacturer, in May 2026, it has operated as Bourns’ Timing Division from its Mt Wellington headquarters, with sites in France, the UK and India.
The opportunity
This is a new role reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, Bourns, working as a peer to the Group Financial Controller and leading a small team in Mt Wellington. It brings together FP&A leadership, finance transformation and business partnering, with an early focus on lifting the quality and reliability of financial information and building reporting the business can rely on. You’ll also lead the finance workstream of Rakon’s move onto Bourns’ SAP S/4HANA platform across New Zealand, France and India, supported by a dedicated implementation team. Bringing the finance teams in France and India with you, and influencing the wider business to adopt new processes and systems, will be central to making the programme a success across the group. It’s a hands-on leadership role for someone who is as comfortable in the detail as they are with the bigger picture.
What you’ll be doing
Leading budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning across the Timing Division
Taking ownership of the integrity of financial information, challenging and validating the numbers before they go out
Building a management reporting framework and KPIs that explain the why behind the numbers
Partnering the Divisional President, Managing Directors and operations leaders on pricing, product profitability and investment decisions
Leading the finance workstream of the SAP S/4HANA migration, standardising processes, reporting and data across the sites
Leading the process and systems change that comes with it, influencing finance teams in France and India and the wider business so SAP is adopted smoothly at every site
Developing and shaping the team, building FP&A and business partnering capability
About you
You’ll be a senior finance professional with substantial FP&A, commercial finance and finance transformation experience, and this could be your next step as an established finance leader or a move up from a senior business partnering role. You’ll also have:
A degree in accounting, finance, commerce or business, with CA or CPA desirable
Finance experience in a manufacturing business with inventory, supply chain and operational complexity
A leading role in the finance side of an ERP transformation
Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills
The ability to simplify complex information and present it persuasively, influencing change without relying on hierarchy
Transformation and change management experience, with the credibility to influence people across different sites, cultures and time zones
A hands-on, curious approach, with the drive to take ownership and move work forward without close oversight
Why this one is worth a look
The chance to build the planning, reporting and decision support capability rather than inherit it
A major SAP S/4HANA programme, with Bourns’ implementation team and global network of super users behind you
The growth of Rakon’s markets alongside the stability of a family-owned global group approaching its 80th year
A global remit, working with teams in France, the UK and India and with Bourns in the US
A competitive package and innovative and supportive culture
If you’re ready to lead from the front and build an FP&A function the business relies on, we’d love to hear from you.
