About the role
Build your accounting career with hands-on experience across property development, property management and construction. Working closely with the CFO and senior finance team, you'll help keep day-to-day accounting running smoothly while building your experience in month-end reporting, cashflow and accounting across multiple entities.
Key responsibilities
- Processing supplier invoices, customer invoices, payments and reimbursements, with accurate coding and supporting documentation.
- Preparing journals and completing bank, loan, balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations.
- Supporting month-end close and the preparation of management accounts and project reports.
- Assisting with payroll inputs, GST returns and other tax and compliance requirements.
- Maintaining accurate, up-to-date records across multiple Xero entities.
- Supporting cashflow monitoring, payment schedules and forecasting.
- Liaising with IRD, banks and suppliers to follow up queries and outstanding matters, escalating issues to the senior finance team where needed.
- Helping improve finance processes, reporting templates and record keeping.
About you
- Ideally, 1–3 years' practical accounting or finance experience.
- A relevant accounting, commerce or finance qualification, completed or in progress.
- A sound understanding of accounting fundamentals and reconciliations.
- Experience using Xero or similar accounting software, along with good Excel skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to organise your workload and meet deadlines.
- Clear communication skills and confidence following up queries professionally.
- A willingness to learn, ask questions and take ownership of your work.
- Experience in property, construction or a business with multiple entities would be an advantage.
