Since 1985, Nautilus Estate has been crafting wines with a focus on balance, quality, and attention to detail. Inspired by the perfectly proportioned Nautilus shell, this philosophy runs through everything we do, from the wines we make to the experiences we create for our visitors.

About the role

We’re looking for friendly, confident and engaging Cellar Door Ambassadors to join our team at Nautilus Estate in Marlborough for the busy summer season, with an expected start date in the last week of October 2026.

As a Nautilus ambassador, you’ll be at the heart of the visitor experience, welcoming guests, guiding wine tastings and sharing the stories behind our wines. You’ll help visitors discover what makes Nautilus distinctive, deliver personalised experiences and build genuine connections that encourage them to enjoy our wines long after their visit.

Reporting to the Global Brand Manager, you’ll work closely with the Cellar Door and winery teams, as well as tourism partners, to deliver a consistently high standard of service and represent the Nautilus brand with confidence.

Key responsibilities

- Welcome visitors and deliver engaging, memorable wine tasting experiences for individuals and groups.

- Share the Nautilus story and confidently communicate our wines, winemaking philosophy and Marlborough heritage.

- Understand customer preferences and recommend wines that suit their tastes, helping drive sales and build lasting brand connections.

- Support Cellar Door sales and direct-to-consumer initiatives, contributing to sales performance and the overall success of the business.

- Work collaboratively with the wider team to maintain a welcoming, well-presented and professional environment.

- Adapt to the pace of a busy summer season, working independently when required and supporting the team wherever needed.

- Assist with stock handling, setup and other practical duties as required.

About you

You’re a natural people person who enjoys making others feel welcome and sharing your enthusiasm for wine. You’re confident talking to a range of customers, comfortable recommending and selling products, and take pride in delivering a great experience.

Ideally, you’ll bring:

- Experience in wine, hospitality, tourism or customer-facing sales.

- A genuine interest in wine and a willingness to keep learning.

- Excellent communication skills and the ability to tell a story in an engaging, approachable way.

- A friendly, proactive attitude and the confidence to work both independently and as part of a team.

- The ability to understand customer needs and tailor the experience accordingly.

- Knowledge of Marlborough wines and local tourism would be an advantage.

- A current Manager’s Certificate would be highly regarded.

What’s in it for you?

- Competitive pay.

- Full onboarding, product knowledge training and support from an experienced team.

- The opportunity to deepen your wine knowledge and develop your hospitality and sales skills.

- A friendly, supportive working environment where people take pride in what they do.
