TMP DESIGNER – GOOD TTM STARTS WITH GOOD PLANNING

Auckland

PLANS THAT WORK ON PAPER AND ON SITE

Can you look at a worksite, understand the risks and turn that into a practical traffic management plan? We’re looking for a TMP Designer who takes pride in getting the details right and enjoys working with the people who bring those plans to life.

Independent Traffic Control (ITC) provides traffic management services for roadworks, infrastructure projects and events across the North Island. Our teams help keep people and communities moving safely, with safety, teamwork and developing our people at the heart of what we do.

As we embed NZGTTM across our business, good planning plays a big part in how we deliver safe, effective traffic management. This is an opportunity to contribute your experience, build your technical skills and help shape how we plan our work.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

Working in our TMP team, you’ll work closely with Operations, clients and Road Controlling Authorities to develop plans that reflect the work, the site and the people using it.

You’ll:

  • Prepare, submit and amend TMPs, traffic management diagrams and supporting documentation.
  • Apply risk-based thinking to develop practical solutions that protect workers, road users and the public.
  • Coordinate Corridor Access Requests, permits and approvals.
  • Work with Branch Managers, STMSs and clients to understand what’s needed and support delivery on site.
  • Keep plans current as site conditions and project requirements change.
  • Use feedback from our crews, audits and incidents to improve future planning.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

You’ll have experience preparing TMPs, a working knowledge of NZGTTM and RCA requirements, and confidence using RapidPlan or similar planning software.

Just as importantly, you’ll bring:

  • A practical approach to solving problems and assessing risk.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines.
  • Clear communication and a willingness to ask questions and share ideas.
  • An interest in understanding how your plans work on site.
  • A current full New Zealand driver licence.
  • A TTM Planner qualification, or progress towards one, would be an advantage, along with STMS qualifications, operational traffic management experience or experience working across multiple RCAs.

WHAT ITC OFFERS

  • The opportunity to contribute to planning across a range of projects and events.
  • Close collaboration with our operational teams, so you can see how your planning supports delivery.
  • Opportunities to build your technical knowledge and capability.
  • A chance to contribute ideas and improve our planning processes as we embed NZGTTM.

READY FOR YOUR NEXT OPPORTUNITY?

If you enjoy turning complex requirements into clear, practical plans, we’d like to hear from you.

Apply through SEEK with your CV and a short cover letter telling us about your planning experience and what you would bring to ITC.
