Fiordland lodge is located on a rural property in the lower South Island just north of the township of Te Anau. The location offers the right applicant the perfect base to explore the beauty of the area and to venture into the famous Milford and Doubtful sounds. The lodge is also ideally located within minutes of four of New Zealand's 'Great Walks' being the Milford, Kepler, Routeburn and Humpridge tracks.

We currently have a position available within our kitchen team for a Junior Sous Chef where your primary focus will be to work closely with our Head Chef to deliver an exceptional dining experience for our guests whilst growing your career in an inspiring environment. This is a quality placement in a top kitchen where we operate a daily changing evening menu.

Key responsibilities:

• Work closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team to prepare and deliver exceptional food

• Uphold high-quality standards

• Adhere to OH&S policies

• Cooking and prepping for the following day as well as kitchen clean up

As the successful candidate you will have:

• 3+ previous experience in a similar role or alternatively an NZ Register Level 4 qualification

• Must be able to work independently in the kitchen.

• Must be competent in simultaneously managing prep and service

• Strong management of stressful situations in a calm and professional manner

• Ambitious, enthusiastic and team player approach

• Strong time management and communication skills

• Flexibility in available hours, covering late nights and early mornings
