Hawera Eyecare relocating to a brand new practice on High Street next to BNZ!
We are looking for an enthusiastic Receptionist/Optical Assistant to join our fast-paced, dynamic team at our new practice. You will be the first point of contact for many patients and will play a key role in delivering outstanding service and ensuring patients leave with the best possible vision solutions.
Key responsibilities
Assist patients with vision care needs, including eyewear selection, adjustments and optical dispensing
Manage and process paperwork efficiently and accurately
Handle busy appointment scheduling and coordinate patient flow
Utilize strong numerical skills for handling transactions, insurance claims and optical prescriptions
Communicate effectively with patients and team members, both verbally and in writing
Think on your feet to solve problems and address patient concerns swiftly
Day to day practice upkeep such as maintaining a functional, clean and professional environment
Work in a health setting - maintain professionalism and discretion in all patient interactions, along with managing and protecting sensitive patient information

Caring and empathetic with an enjoyment of interacting with people and a focus on great patient outcomes
Attention to detail and accurate completion of tasks
Ability to work quickly and efficiently
Professional appearance and demeanour
Ability to work efficiently on your own as well as collaborate effectively with the team
Comfortable with numbers for transactions and paperwork, and skilled in clear, compassionate communication
Adaptable and resourceful, able to handle a variety of tasks and challenges in a busy setting
Strong ability to learn, grow and acquire new skills and knowledge through both book based learning and on the job training
