Description

Financial Accountant responsibilities

Take ownership of the month-end and year-end close process, producing accurate management accounts and financial reports across multiple entities
Maintain the balance sheet through regular reconciliations, investigation of variances and resolution of outstanding items
Manage day-to-day transactional finance activities, including supplier payments, customer receipts and fixed asset accounting
Prepare and deliver financial reporting packs, providing meaningful analysis and commentary to support business performance
Assist with budgeting, forecasting and cash flow planning activities, helping to inform strategic decision-making
Ensure compliance with relevant financial, statutory and regulatory requirements through the preparation of returns and filings
Support external audit processes by preparing schedules, reconciliations and responding to information requests
Partner with stakeholders across the business to improve financial controls, reporting processes and operational efficiency

Profile

A successful Financial Accountant should have

Part-qualified ACCA or CIMA
Previous experience producing management accounts, financial reporting and financial analysis
Proficient in accounting systems and confident working with financial data
Strong attention to detail
Well-organised
Proactive and inquisitive approach
Strong communication skills
