Opportunity to work for a highly acquisitive business
If you're ready to leave practice and want to see where the numbers go once the audit is signed off, this is a role worth reading to the end.
Campbell Grove Talent is working with a highly acquisitive group in York who are looking for a Group Reporting Accountant .
Every acquisition means new entities, new complexity and new puzzles to solve.
You'll be right in the middle of it, building the acquisition accounting entries and bringing each new business into the fold.
The business is open on seniority. It could be a Group Reporting Accountant or a Group Reporting Manager role, depending on the level you've reached in your career so far.
What you'll be doing
Pulling the group's numbers together every month across the UK, Europe and the wider group
Being the person people go to when an accounting question needs a proper answer, and keeping everyone ahead of changing standards
Playing a hands-on part in year-end, from the statutory accounts through to the Group audit
Teaming up with finance colleagues in different countries to get balance sheets in better shape
Making sure the right people have the right information at the right time, so decisions are made with confidence
Spotting clunky processes, fixing them and passing on what works
Making sure each newly acquired business slots neatly into the group's numbers
Managing a small team of part-qualified accountants
What makes it different
It's an autonomous culture with a large finance team, so there's real depth to learn from and you won't be tucked away in a corner.
You'll get genuine exposure to senior stakeholders and the decisions that shape the group.
You'll also report to a hiring manager who's supportive, switched on and genuinely keen to develop their people.
Progression here isn't a vague promise. The business is constantly evolving, and there's plenty of room to grow with it.
What we're looking for
Qualified ACA/ACCA (or equivalent), trained in practice
Hands-on experience with IFRS reporting (acquisition accounting experience is a huge advantage, but not essential)
Strong Excel skills
A clear communicator who stays calm under pressure and handles confidential information with discretion
Someone approachable, tactful and up for a challenge
Please apply with your CV or contact Emma Dugdale or Lucy Regan at Campbell Grove Talent for a confidential chat.
