We are Sisu Eatery and Bar on the Picton waterfront with stunning views of the Sounds. With only 24 seats inside, we run a laid-back personalized concept with seasonal small sharing plates, honest and attentive service and over 30 wines by the glass. We have an opportunity for a Front of House member to join our team on permanent or fixed-terms basis.

About you: You have a genuine and fun personality, sense of urgency and you care about your job.

About the role: Full-time permanent position with growth opportunities, or a fixed-term summer role. You’ll be a part of our small tight-knit team, so it is important that you’ll fit in with existing team members. Both role includes all aspects of FOH work from table service, creating great customer experience, cash handling and stock management to cleaning and communicating with the kitchen. As well as adhering to all health and safety and food safety standards and liquor laws.

We are open for lunch and dinner 6 days a week so availability to work evenings and weekends is essential and occasionally working public holidays. Our service is casual and fast paced with uncompromised quality. Picton is a seasonal destination so hours will fluctuate, more hours in the peak of summer. What we need from you:

·   Some experience in restaurant with table service

·   Keen interest in wine and willingness to learn is a must.

·   Outgoing personality. We take plenty of time to chat with customers and make them feel welcomed.

·   Be proactive and have a can-do attitude. You’ll need to be able to prioritise between tasks and think quickly on your feet. Consistency and attention to detail are part of our core values!

·   Be a respectful, polite team member.

·   You must have excellent conversational English language skills.

·   You need to be physically fit enough to lift wine boxes and stand for long periods of time.

·   You'll need to be able to follow instructions and be happy to comply with our house rules and procedures.

·   You’ll need to have a current right to work in New Zealand. (Working holiday visa is enough to start with)



What we offer:

·   25-30 /h depending on your experience.

·   Permanent full-time contract (even in the quietest parts of winter 30 hours guaranteed, most of the year 40hours) or Fixed-term contract until Easter 2027

·   Rostered shifts over 5 working days a week.

·   Full training will be provided to ensure you can still have fun while working in a hospitality job.
