About the Role
Depending on the employer, responsibilities may include:
- Coordinating daily transport and dispatch operations
- Scheduling drivers, vehicles and freight movements
- Planning delivery routes and optimising fleet utilisation
- Allocating jobs and managing changing delivery priorities
- Monitoring driver movements and delivery schedules
- Communicating with drivers, customers and operations teams
- Managing delivery documentation, manifests and proof of delivery
- Resolving delays, breakdowns and last-minute scheduling changes
- Using transport management systems (TMS), GPS tracking and dispatch software
- Ensuring deliveries meet customer expectations and operational deadlines
We're interested in hearing from candidates who have:
- Previous experience in logistics or transport dispatch
- Strong knowledge of transport operations and driver scheduling
- Experience coordinating multiple vehicles, drivers or deliveries
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workloads
- Strong communication skills when dealing with drivers and customers
- Confidence using dispatch software, transport management systems and Microsoft Office
- The ability to think on your feet and solve problems under pressure
- A good understanding of NZ transport regulations, driving hours and compliance requirements
