Why Us?
Our Banking and Financial Services team is trusted by many of New Zealand's largest financial institutions and public sector organisations to advise on high-value transactions, regulatory reform, and strategically important projects. Known for our technical excellence and commercial focus, our busy and dedicated team help clients navigate an increasingly complex regulatory and operating environment with confidence.
From major financing transactions and securitisation programmes to regulatory compliance, governance, and large-scale cross-disciplinary projects, our lawyers are involved in work that shapes New Zealand's financial sector. We are also proud advisers on a number of high-profile government initiatives, giving our team exposure to matters that are both challenging and impactful.
As a senior lawyer, you'll be entrusted with meaningful responsibility from day one. You'll work closely with experienced partners and clients at the highest levels, while developing your own profile within the market and contributing to the continued success of a highly respected practice.
About You
We're looking for a lawyer with at least five years' experience in banking and financial services law, gained in a leading law firm, financial institution, or a smaller practice where you have built strong technical capability and are ready to take the next step.
Experience advising on financial services regulatory matters is essential, and you'll be confident navigating complex regulatory frameworks, including those within the public sector environment. Alongside strong legal and commercial judgement, you'll bring a practical approach to problem-solving and a genuine interest in understanding what drives your clients' organisations.
You'll also enjoy working collaboratively, mentoring junior lawyers, and playing an active role in building client relationships and supporting business development initiatives. Strong academics, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering outstanding client service are all key ingredients for success in this role.
If you're looking to grow your career in a market-leading team that combines high-quality work, exceptional clients, and genuine opportunities for development and leadership, we'd love to hear from you.
