About the role
As Senior Associate, you'll lead the delivery of multiple Independent Commissioning Agent (ICA), Building Services Co-ordination (BSC) and Commissioning Management (CxM) projects across Auckland. You'll be the technical go-to on your projects, and you'll line manage and mentor a team of Associates, Engineers and Graduates. This is a senior position with a seat at the table. Alongside delivery, you'll contribute to business development, client relationships, pricing and tenders, and the ongoing growth of the business.
Key responsibilities
Leading ICA, BSC and CxM projects from design review through to handover and building tuning
Developing commissioning plans and programmes, leading functional and scenario testing, and producing final commissioning reports
Co-ordinating building services trades, managing interfaces, RFIs and shop drawing processes, and running services meetings
Providing specialist commissioning and technical advice to clients, consultants and contractors
Line managing and mentoring engineers, including regular catch-ups and annual performance reviews
Building client relationships and generating repeat work
Supporting proposals, pricing, tenders and project progress claims
Representing the business in industry organisations
Showing leadership in health and safety on site and in the office
About you
A degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent construction qualification
Building services and commissioning experience, operating at the level expected of someone with 8+ years in the industry
People management experience is a must have
A proven track record of delivering large or multiple projects at once
Strong client care, with relationships that bring repeat work
Advanced project management and construction planning skills
Experience leading, developing or mentoring engineers
Commercial awareness, including pricing, budgets and proposals
Familiarity with NZ commissioning standards and the NZGBC Green Star process (highly regarded)
Data centre or hospital and healthcare commissioning experience will be highly advantageous
