Seeking an immediately available Part Qualified or Finalist level Management Accountant for a 6 months FTC role (potential to go perm)

Management Accountant (Finance Business Partner)
Annual Salary: up to £50k (pro rata as its 6 months FTC)
Location: Office based - parking on site

Join our successful and growing logistics business as a Management Accountant (FBP). This role combines rigorous financial management with strategic business partnership. You will be instrumental in month-end close processes, production of financial statements, and have responsibilities in VAT, tax, and audit areas. This position offers a modern approach to finance, focusing on automation and system improvements, and provides a unique opportunity to develop your skills further with the support of a strong team.

Day-to-day of the role

Monthly production of financial statements following successful close.
Build a thorough understanding of all costs incurred by the business to support decision-making by partnering closely with operations.
Understand key cost drivers that flex with volume and support the Financial Accounting Manager with weekly and monthly reporting and variance analysis.
Review balance sheet reconciliations prepared by the assistant management accountant.
Manage the audit process and develop relationships with external auditors.
Adhere to and develop internal financial controls, improving processes where necessary.
Work closely with individual P&L owners to ensure accurate monthly reporting and alignment with budget.
Collaborate with the transactional accounting team and the Finance Controller on annual budget and quarterly reforecasting.
Establish and maintain financial policies and procedures for the company.
Engage in ad-hoc projects with the Finance Director and Financial Controller.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
Part-Qualified Accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA) or very good finalists.
Experience with multi-site P&L.
Strong background in transactional accounting and management accounting.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
Demonstrated commercial and business acumen.
Proficient in Excel and financial modelling; opportunity to further develop these skills.
Ability to meet deadlines and strong leadership skills as this role includes a direct report.
Modern outlook on finance with an interest in systems and automation.
Experience of Microsoft Dynamics 365 is an advantage
