Raureka School, Hastings

Raureka School is looking for a caring and committed Teacher Aide to join our awesome team from Term 1, 2027. This role is for 23.75 hours per week during the school term, supporting our tamariki to feel confident, included, and able to thrive in their learning. Our Teacher Aides play a vital part in creating a positive, inclusive learning environment.

The successful applicant will:

• Bring warmth, patience, and a genuine desire to support tamariki.

• Have an understanding of diverse learning, social, and behavioural needs (or be open to this new learning).

• Work 1:1 with students who require additional support, and with small groups under teacher guidance.

• Build positive relationships with tamariki and kaiako.

• Communicate clearly and positively.

• Demonstrate initiative as well as the ability to follow direction when needed.

• Be reliable, adaptable, and open to learning new skills and approaches.

• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

• Have a high degree of tolerance — and a good sense of humour never goes amiss!

• Be physically fit, and willing to undertake all aspects of behavioural, developmental, and personal care as required.
  

Additional requirements:

• Must be a New Zealand resident or hold a current NZ work visa.

• Must be willing to be Police vetted.

• Pay rates are in accordance with the Support Staff in Schools’ Collective Agreement (Grade B).
