Eliga is growing, and we're looking for a Senior Transport Engineer to join the journey. Based in our Auckland CBD office, you'll work on a diverse range of infrastructure projects that are actively shaping how people move around our city.
About the role
You'll be an integral member of our team, applying sharp technical skills to deliver high-quality, design-focused transport solutions. Your work will span urban infrastructure, roads and intersections, active mode facilities, and public transport networks where attention to detail and engineering excellence genuinely matter.
This is a role with real scope. You'll take on increased responsibility, lead technically challenging work, and make a visible impact on Auckland's transport landscape.
What you'll be doing
Lead and contribute to the technically sound transport solutions for a range of projects, ensuring outcomes meet programme, budget and quality expectations.
Work alongside multi-disciplinary project teams to deliver integrated transportation solutions.
Engage directly with clients, sub-consultants, and authorities to understand requirements and secure project approvals.
Apply best-practice guidelines to make user safety a priority, following all relevant safety in design standards.
About You: What We’re Looking For
We’re after an experienced professional with a proven background in transport engineering and/or transport design. Ideally, you’ll have:
Ability to analyse and interpret complex transport engineering problems using sound theoretical knowledge.
Experience mentoring and guiding junior engineers, supporting their technical and professional development.
Strong working knowledge of New Zealand standards, best practices, and local government transport guidelines.
Clear, confident communication skills with the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision and manage your own workload.
A collaborative attitude and the drive to grow your professional impact within a fast-paced team environment.
Qualifications & Experience
A tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering (Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent).
7+ years of local experience delivering transport infrastructure and projects within New Zealand.
Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status in New Zealand, or actively tracking toward it, is highly preferred.
A full New Zealand driver's licence.
CAD Design expertise preferred.
