Business Development Manager – New Zealand

ACFS Port Logistics NZ has operated in Auckland since 2022 moving containers and running 3PL warehousing out of our Ōtāhuhu facility. Until now, New Zealand business development has been handled alongside operations. We’re creating a dedicated Business Development Manager role to change that and whoever takes it will own the NZ customer portfolio end to end.

You’ll report to our Operations Manager and work alongside our Auckland operations team, with access to the systems, tender resources and trans-Tasman customer relationships of a group operating across Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth. Small team, short lines, real ownership of the market.

What you’ll actually be doing:

•      Building and owning the NZ pipeline, sourcing leads, opening doors and converting them

•      Winning new 3PL transport and warehousing business across [target sectors, e.g. importers, FMCG, freight forwarders]

•      Leading tenders, bids and commercial proposals from first conversation to signed contract

•      Managing the handover into operations so new customers start well, not just sign well

•      Growing revenue in existing accounts and protecting the ones that matter

•      Feeding market intelligence back into the NZ strategy, you’ll help shape it, not just execute it

What we’re looking for:

•      A track record in B2B business development, real wins you can talk us through

•      Solid grounding in 3PL, container transport, warehousing or freight forwarding (NZ market knowledge is a strong advantage)

•      Confidence running a tender or bid process and presenting to decision-makers

•      Commercial sharpness, you understand rate structures, margin and what makes a deal worth doing

•      The self-direction to work as the only BD person in-market, and the sense to bring people with you

•      Full and unrestricted right to work in New Zealand, and a clean driver licence
