About the role – Mō te Tūranga
Burlington Village is a resort-style complex for the ‘young at heart’. We are located on the Northern side of Christchurch, near Redwood.
We are looking to fill the position of a full time Grounds/Maintenance person. The successful candidate will be a hands on person who has good practical knowledge (prior carpenter is advantageous) to assist with maintenance within our residents villas and communal spaces around the village. They will also have a good understanding of grounds care, including spraying, lawn mowing, weeding, planting, pruning, re-mulching and other general grounds keeping jobs. This role will be split into the two areas to assist both our grounds team and maintenance team to help care for this large complex. General knowledge of grass care is advantageous. There is an on-call component to this role. No one day is the same!
The successful candidate will be a flexible, professional, capable and adaptable team player with the following qualities:
Enjoys working outdoors
Attention to detail with a focus on high standards at all times
Proven maintenance experience
Sound skills in terms of operating and maintaining machinery (ride-on mower etc)
Be physically fit
Good communication skills
Excellent customer service skills
A current and clean drivers licence
Discreet and diplomatic
