Love working with kids, being active, leading games and getting stuck into the fun?
Hi 5 Kids is building our teams for 2027 at Hi 5 Kids – Cornwall Park (Greenlane) and Hi 5 Kids – Wakaaranga (Howick/Pakuranga).
These are ongoing, part-time, term-time roles in our before- and after-school programmes. We’re looking for people who want to become a regular part of our team, build relationships with the kids and make a difference throughout 2027.
Start now or in 2027. If you can start this term, even better! You’ll have the opportunity to get trained up, get to know the kids and be ready to hit the ground running in Term 1.
What the Job Actually Looks Like
⚡ Getting stuck in – Playing tag, running ball games, helping with crafts, cooking and outdoor activities with kids aged 5–13.
🎉 Making the fun happen – Leading activities, encouraging participation and getting kids involved, rather than watching from the sidelines.
👥 Being part of a great team – Working alongside friendly, supportive people who take safety, teamwork and fun seriously.
Who We’re Looking For
Outgoing, confident, friendly and full of energy.
Reliable and responsible. The kids and your teammates count on you.
Keen to stick around and build relationships with the kids throughout the year.
Willing to learn, take initiative and get involved.
No previous experience needed. We’ll provide the training!
Shifts Available
After-School Care: Monday–Friday, 2:30 pm – 6:00 pm
Before-School Care: Monday–Friday, 6:50 am – 8:40 am
Applicants should be available for at least two after-school shifts per week during school terms in 2027. We understand that study schedules can change, so your regular working days can be reviewed each term. Additional morning and afternoon shifts are often available.
☀️ Extra holiday opportunities: Our term-time team may have opportunities to work additional shifts during school holidays, with flexible rostered hours between 7:00 am and 6:00 pm. The upcoming December/Jan holidays could also be a great chance to get started with induction, training and getting to know the kids.
Please note that we’re recruiting for ongoing term-time positions, not holiday-only work.
