Mechatronics intern for Static Actuation Rig for the Auraflex prototype.

About you

• Currently studying towards, or recently completed, a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Mechatronics Engineering

• Or Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical, Electrical or Electronic Engineering with a strong mechatronics focus

• Proficiency in 3D CAD (e.g. SolidWorks, Fusion 360) and rapid prototyping (e.g. 3D printing, laser cutting, basic machining)

• Experience programming microcontrollers or single-board computers (e.g. Arduino, ESP32, Raspberry Pi) in C/C++ and/or Python

• Experience with sensors and instrumentation (e.g. load cells and strain gauge amplifiers, thermocouples or infrared temperature sensors, data acquisition hardware)

• Basic electronics skills: reading schematics, wiring and soldering, and using test equipment (e.g. multimeter, oscilloscope, bench power supply), with awareness of electrical and ESD safety

• Experience with data acquisition, logging, analysis and plotting (e.g. Python with pandas/matplotlib, or Microsoft Excel)

• GPA of 7 or higher

• Highly desirable: experience with electronics testing or production QC/inspection, test fixture design, sensor calibration
