About the role

You'll be working as part of a busy civil construction crew, assisting with the preparation, construction and maintenance of roads and infrastructure. This is an opportunity to work alongside experienced operators and tradespeople, develop practical skills and gain exposure to major civil construction projects.

Key responsibilities

• Assisting asphalt and roading crews with daily operations

• Preparing work areas and surfaces for asphalt laying

• Supporting paving, rolling and general road construction activities

• Shovelling, raking and moving materials as required

• Assisting with site preparation, clean-up and general labouring

• Working alongside machinery operators and experienced crew members

• Following site safety procedures and maintaining a safe working environment

• Supporting the team to complete projects efficiently and to a high standard

About you

• Physically fit and reliable

• Previous construction, civil or roading experience (preferred)

• Experience working around asphalt or paving crews (an advantage)

• Full Class 1 driver's licence (preferred)

• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn

• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions

• Good communication skills and a team-first attitude

• Commitment to workplace health and safety

• Flexibility to work early starts and additional hours when required

• Experience with asphalt paving, raking, rollers or other civil machinery will be highly regarded
