Clinical Operations & Performance Coordinator

Henderson

Are you highly organised, analytical and passionate about improving healthcare services?

The Fono is seeking a proactive and solutions-focused Clinical Operations & Performance Coordinator to provide high-level operational, project, reporting and coordination support to our Clinical Director and Manager Nursing.

This is an opportunity to bring together people, performance data and service improvement initiatives to help strengthen clinical operations and support better health outcomes for our communities.

About the Role

The Clinical Operations & Performance Coordinator plays a critical role connecting frontline primary care teams, clinical leadership and executive management. You will help ensure effective communication, timely decision-making and coordinated service improvement activities across our clinical services.

Working closely with clinical leaders and multidisciplinary teams, you will coordinate key activities, monitor performance, support quality improvement initiatives and identify opportunities to improve operational effectiveness. Your work will help ensure priorities are progressed and clinical leaders can focus on strategic and clinical priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational and leadership coordination: Coordinate cross-functional meetings, prepare agendas and supporting documentation, take minutes, maintain action registers and ensure actions from clinical leadership meetings are followed up and progressed.

  • Performance monitoring and reporting: Monitor clinical and operational performance data, track key performance indicators and contractual targets, identify trends and opportunities for improvement, and prepare reports and dashboards to support data-driven decision-making.

  • Quality improvement and project coordination: Support quality improvement initiatives and service improvement projects, monitor progress against agreed deliverables, and help ensure actions and outcomes are achieved.

  • Systems and process improvement: Identify opportunities to improve operational processes, systems, workflows and data quality, working collaboratively with teams to implement practical solutions that strengthen organisational effectiveness.

  • Communication and stakeholder engagement: Act as a link between frontline teams, clinical leadership and executive management, supporting effective communication, collaboration and information sharing across services.

  • Continuous improvement: Contribute to a culture of accountability, innovation and continuous improvement, helping clinical leaders identify and respond to opportunities to enhance service delivery.

About you

You are an organised and solutions-focused professional who enjoys bringing structure to complexity, working with data and helping teams turn priorities into action. You can manage competing demands, communicate confidently with a range of stakeholders and identify practical ways to improve systems and processes.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • A relevant qualification in health administration, business, project management, quality improvement or a related field.

  • Experience supporting senior leaders, ideally within a healthcare or community services environment.

  • Strong project coordination, organisational and planning skills.

  • Experience analysing data, monitoring performance and preparing accurate, meaningful reports.

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • The ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and follow through on agreed actions.

  • A collaborative approach and a commitment to improving service delivery and organisational effectiveness.

Experience in primary healthcare or a PHO environment, familiarity with Medtech or Power BI, and an understanding of quality improvement methodologies would be advantageous. Knowledge of Pacific and Māori health frameworks and experience supporting multidisciplinary healthcare teams would also be beneficial.
