About the role
Paraparaumu College is seeking a part-time Guidance Counsellor to work 4 days per week (0.8 FTTE) to join our collaborative and experienced team. School counselling is deeply relational work requiring consistency, calm and active engagement. You will create a safe, positive space for young people while navigating a busy school environment with professional judgement.
Key responsibilities
Provide guidance counselling support to students
Work within a collaborative school environment
Engage with young people in a relational and professional manner
About you
Recognised tertiary counselling qualification
Current NZAC (or equivalent) registration (full or provisional)
Proven guidance counselling experience
Ability to create a safe, positive space for young people
Professional judgement in a busy school environment
