White + Wong’s Queenstown is looking for an experienced and energetic ARM/Duty Manager to join our team in the heart of Queenstown.
We’re looking for someone who loves the buzz of a busy restaurant, knows how to lead from the floor and can keep a team motivated when service is in full swing. You’ll be confident with guests, calm under pressure and passionate about creating a great atmosphere for both our customers and our team.
The role
Working alongside our management team, you’ll help run the day-to-day operation of this busy, high-volume restaurant, including:
Leading the team and running smooth, successful services
Delivering an exceptional guest experience
Driving sales and supporting venue performance
Assisting with rostering, recruitment and onboarding
Training, coaching and developing the team
Managing guest enquiries, reservations and feedback
Maintaining high standards across service and venue presentation
Ensuring Health & Safety and liquor licensing requirements are met
What we’re looking for
You’ll have at least 2 years’ experience in a hospitality leadership role, ideally within a busy restaurant or premium hospitality environment.
You’ll also bring:
Strong leadership and communication skills
A positive, energetic and solutions-focused attitude
Confidence running a busy service and making decisions under pressure
A genuine passion for great food, drinks and guest experiences
Strong restaurant knowledge and experience with POS/reservation systems
A current Manager’s Certificate or LCQ is preferred
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays
Most importantly, we’re looking for someone with personality — someone who enjoys being on the floor, motivates those around them and gets a buzz from a busy service.
