At Dunedin Public Libraries, we connect people with knowledge, ideas, and opportunities. We're looking for a reliable and safety-conscious Casual Library Courier to support the movement of library collections and resources across our network.
This is a casual, as-required position, providing cover during periods of leave and peak operational demand.
As a Casual Library Courier, you'll play an important role in ensuring library materials are delivered safely, efficiently, and on time between the library network. Your work will help ensure our communities have access to the resources they need, when they need them.
Key responsibilities include:
- Transporting library materials and resources between locations.
- Loading and unloading items safely and efficiently.
- Building positive working relationships with library staff across the network.
Key requirements:
- Excellent time management skills to ensure deliveries are completed safely and on time according to the schedule
- Attention to detail, ensuring accurate transportation and handling of items
- Physical fitness and ability to lift and move heavy crates of books and items as required
- Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Previous experience in a courier or delivery role is desirable
