Position Overview
The Supply Chain & Purchasing Officer will play a crucial role in managing our purchasing processes, supplier relationships, and inventory management. This position is integral to ensuring that our operations run smoothly and efficiently. The ideal candidate will bring a proactive approach and a strong analytical mindset to the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Raise and manage purchase orders for inventory, production materials, and consumables.
- Obtain quotations and follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of orders.
- Expedite overdue orders and maintain accurate delivery dates in the system.
- Maintain supplier pricing, lead times, minimum order quantities, and comprehensive purchasing records.
- Support the monitoring and reporting of supplier performance metrics.
- Analyse inventory levels, demand, usage, and lead times to ensure optimal stock levels.
- Produce inventory ageing and exception reports to identify potential stock issues.
- Coordinate with branches and sales teams on stock transfers, supplier returns, and inventory initiatives.
- Prepare various reports related to purchasing, suppliers, inventory, and operational performance.
- Support KPI reporting and identify opportunities for improvements across supply chain processes.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess a solid background in supply chain management, purchasing, or a related field, along with strong analytical and communication skills. You should be detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple priorities effectively.
- Previous experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, inventory management, or logistics.
- Practical experience in raising and managing purchase orders and maintaining supplier relationships.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to work confidently with data.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
