Passionate about using biotechnology to solve real-world challenges?

We're looking for a curious, innovative and collaborative Research Scientist to join our Advanced Protein Technologies team.

This is an exciting opportunity to apply your expertise in molecular biology, protein engineering and bioprocessing to a diverse range of research and innovation projects spanning health, food, primary industries and circular bioeconomy.

What you'll be doing

Working alongside talented colleagues from a range of scientific disciplines, you'll help turn innovative ideas into practical solutions. You'll be involved in:

  • Designing and delivering research in molecular engineering, protein science and bioprocessing.

  • Developing and applying innovative approaches to protein product development.

  • Contributing to new research programmes and applied product development projects.

  • Analysing results and sharing insights and recommendations with project partners.

  • Exploring emerging technologies and finding creative solutions to scientific challenges.

What you'll bring

You'll have a PhD in Biotechnology, Molecular Biology or a related field, along with approximately 2–5 years' experience in research, development or innovation.

Ideally, you'll also bring:

  • Experience in molecular engineering, bioprospecting and protein product development.

  • Hands-on experience with recombination-based cloning techniques, such as yeast TAR.

  • Practical experience in protein purification techniques, including chromatography.

  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative, adaptable approach.

  • The ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality research.

Experience with CRISPR, bioinformatics tools, AlphaFold or cell-based assays would be a bonus.

Sound like you?

We're looking for someone who enjoys tackling scientific challenges, exploring new ideas and working with others to make a difference.

If you're excited by the opportunity to contribute to innovative biotechnology research with real-world impact, we'd love to hear from you!
