Brownie Construction is looking for a Yard Person to support its Queenstown construction team across a busy pipeline of work.

A large part of the role will involve driving the company’s tip truck, collecting and delivering materials, removing waste from sites and helping keep projects moving.

When you’re not in the truck, you’ll be getting stuck into general labouring, yard work and site support as required.

This is a role for someone practical, reliable and able to manage their own day without needing constant direction. Priorities can change quickly across multiple sites, so you’ll need to be switched on, flexible and comfortable working with Project Managers, Site Managers and Foremen.

The role

  • Driving the company tip truck across Queenstown

  • Collecting and delivering materials to sites

  • Removing rubbish and waste

  • Completing pick-ups and drop-offs as required

  • Carrying out general labouring duties on site and in the yard

  • Supporting Project Managers, Site Managers and Foremen

  • Managing your own daily schedule and priorities

  • Keeping the truck, yard, tools and equipment clean and organised

  • Taking responsibility for the ongoing upkeep of the vehicle, including servicing and WOFs

  • Helping wherever needed to keep jobs moving

About you

You’ll need a full, clean Class 1 New Zealand Driver Licence and be confident driving a 3-tonne tip truck.

You’ll also be reliable, practical and happy getting stuck in wherever needed. You need to be comfortable working independently, managing changing priorities and taking initiative rather than waiting to be told every next step.

Previous construction, labouring, driving or similar experience would be useful.

This is a permanent, full-time position. Monday to Friday: 7.30am–5.00pm

There will occasionally be early starts, later finishes or Saturday work, so some flexibility is important.

What’s on offer

  • $30–$32 per hour depending on experience

  • Permanent, full-time employment

  • Consistent work across Brownie Construction projects

  • Variety between driving, labouring and site support

  • Plenty of independence in your day

  • Long-term opportunity with an established Queenstown construction company

If you’re reliable, practical and the sort of person who sees what needs doing and gets on with it, this is worth a look.
