The Opportunity
We are partnering with a well-established financial services organisation seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to join a significant business and technology transformation programme on a two-year fixed-term contract.
This is an excellent opportunity for a capable, commercially minded Business Analyst who enjoys working across complex projects, engaging with stakeholders and bringing structure and clarity to business requirements.
The organisation is undertaking a programme focused on simplifying its existing systems, improving data integration and strengthening business reporting capabilities.
You'll play a central role in understanding business needs, documenting requirements and ensuring proposed solutions deliver the right outcomes.
Previous investment systems experience is not required. We're more interested in finding an excellent Business Analyst with strong fundamentals, a structured approach and the ability to work effectively across business and technology teams.
Key Responsibilities
Engage with business and technology stakeholders to gather, analyse and document business requirements.
Develop comprehensive Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), functional and non-functional requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria.
Facilitate workshops and stakeholder interviews to understand business challenges, processes and desired outcomes.
Map current-state and future-state business processes, identifying opportunities for improvement.
Analyse data flows, system integrations and reporting requirements, working closely with technical teams.
Maintain requirements traceability throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring alignment between business objectives and delivered solutions.
Support scope management, change control and impact assessments.
Maintain project documentation, including decision logs, issue registers and requirements registers.
Work collaboratively with project managers, technical specialists, business leaders and external vendors.
Support solution evaluation, testing, UAT and transition into business-as-usual operations.
About You
We're looking for an experienced Business Analyst who brings strong analytical capability, excellent communication skills and a proven ability to deliver within complex project environments.
Ideally, you'll offer:
At least five years' experience working as a Business Analyst across complex business, systems or technology transformation projects.
Strong experience gathering, analysing and documenting business and functional requirements.
Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality BRDs, process maps, user stories and acceptance criteria.
Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, including facilitating workshops and working with senior business leaders.
Experience mapping business processes, understanding data flows and working with technical delivery teams.
Strong understanding of project governance, scope management and change control.
Experience working across Agile and traditional project delivery environments.
A collaborative, proactive approach with the ability to work autonomously and take ownership of deliverables.
Experience with data integration, reporting, enterprise systems or financial services environments would be beneficial, but is not essential.
Most importantly, we're looking for someone who understands what good business analysis looks like, asks the right questions and can bring stakeholders together to achieve successful project outcomes.
