Landscape Operator – Landscape Construction

Selwyn District (Lincoln, Rolleston & surrounds)

Greenara is a growing residential landscape construction business working primarily across the Selwyn District, with projects in Christchurch City and beyond as required.

We’re looking for a Landscape Operator who’s confident on machinery and happy to get on the tools when the job needs it. This is not a sit-in-the-machine-all-day role. It’s about helping jobs flow, avoiding rework, and delivering quality landscapes we’re proud of.

About the role

You’ll be involved across the full landscape build process, including:

Operating machinery for site scrapes, contouring, soil spreading and levelling
Daily plant checks — greasing, fuelling, and keeping machines work-ready
Earthworks, prep, and shaping to set jobs up right the first time
Timber landscape construction (retaining walls, edging, decking, fencing)
Concrete prep, formwork, and base preparation
Planting, weedmat, mulch, decorative stone, and final finishes
Working closely with the Lead Landscaper to keep jobs moving
Helping maintain tidy, safe, professional sites

Some days you’ll be in the machine.

Some days you’ll be on the tools.

Some days it'll be both.

This role will suit you if you:

Treat machinery and gear better than your own
Understand how landscapes go together and think a few steps ahead
Care about prep, sequencing, and avoiding rework
Are flexible when priorities change
Work with the team, not against it
Take pride in tidy sites and quality finishes

If you’re only interested in machine seat time, this role won’t be the right fit.
