Brownie Construction is looking for a Maintenance Manager to take ownership of post-completion maintenance across its Queenstown projects.
This is a hands-on role for someone who is confident working independently, managing their own schedule, and dealing directly with clients.
Much of the hands-on work will involve finishing, touch-ups and remedial work, so a strong painting and decorating background is important.
You’ll be responsible for making sure maintenance issues are sorted properly, work is followed through, and completed projects continue to meet the standard Brownie Construction expects.
Where something falls outside your own trade capability, you’ll work alongside Brownie Construction’s Project Managers and Site Managers to arrange the appropriate subcontractor and make sure the job is followed through to completion.
The role
You’ll be responsible for:
Completing painting, decorating, touch-ups and remedial work
Attending maintenance items across completed projects
Contacting clients directly and arranging access
Managing your own workload and daily schedule
Working through outstanding items efficiently and professionally
Liaising with Project Managers and Site Managers where further input is required
Coordinating subcontractors for specialist work
Following jobs through properly rather than simply passing them on
Keeping records and maintenance tracking up to date
Occasionally working outside normal hours where client access requires it
About you
You’ll need a solid painting and decorating background and enough construction experience to understand how completed projects come together.
More importantly, you’ll be someone who can be trusted to get on with the job.
You’ll be organised, reliable and comfortable working independently, with the confidence to deal directly with clients and manage your own workload.
You’ll have a practical, solutions-focused approach, strong attention to quality and finishing, and be comfortable working in occupied homes. You’ll also need to communicate well with site teams and subcontractors and be able to prioritise work effectively as things change.
A full New Zealand Driver Licence is essential.
Previous experience with maintenance, warranty work or post-completion defects would be useful, but the right attitude, trade background and ability to manage yourself well matter just as much.
What’s on offer
$40–$45 per hour depending on experience
Permanent, full-time position
Consistent work across Brownie Construction projects
Plenty of autonomy
Variety between hands-on maintenance and coordination
Phone and tablet provided
Long-term opportunity in Queenstown
If you like variety, take pride in the finish and don’t need someone chasing you to get things done, this is worth a look.
