About the role

Essential Staff is looking for 10 experienced Carpenters for ongoing commercial construction and fit-out work across the Canterbury and Otago regions.

These are full-time positions working across a range of commercial construction, interior fit-out and general carpentry projects.

These roles involve work across the Canterbury and Otago regions. Regular travel between these regions will be required, so the ability and willingness to travel is essential.

Key responsibilities

• Commercial and residential carpentry

• Interior fit-out and finishing work

• Framing and general construction carpentry

• Installing doors, frames, hardware, cabinetry and other building components

• Reading and working from plans and drawings

• Measuring, cutting, assembling and installing timber and other materials

• Working alongside other trades and site teams

• Completing work safely and to a high standard

• Following site health and safety requirements

About you

• Minimum 3 years' relevant carpentry experience OR a relevant carpentry qualification

• Proven experience working on construction or fit-out projects

• Ability to read plans and work independently

• Good knowledge of construction site health and safety

• Reliable and able to work as part of a team

• Willing and able to travel regularly between Canterbury and Otago as required

Benefits

• $30.00-$35.00 per hour depending on experience

• Minimum 30 guaranteed hours per week

• Typically around 40 hours per week, with additional hours available depending on project requirements
