Senior Accountant – North Shore Auckland

We are looking for a confident, personable Accountant to join a growing accounting firm on Auckland’s North Shore.
Ideally, you will have 4–5 years’ BAS experience and be CA/CPA qualified or possibly working towards it, but we’re open to the right person. Personality, communication and client skills are important in this role.
The role
You will work with a diverse portfolio of predominantly SME clients, including:
Sole traders and small businesses
Commercial and residential property investors
Trusts and high-net-worth clients
Clients with more substantial property and investment portfolios
Clients requiring tax structuring and advice, including FIF considerations and clients moving to or from New Zealand
The accounts are generally straightforward. The real value you bring will be in understanding the client, communicating clearly and helping them understand what their numbers mean.
There is also scope to get involved in advisory work, business development, training and process improvement if that interests you.
We are looking for someone ideally who:
Has around 4–5 years’ accounting experience
Is ideally qualified but not essential
Is confident and articulate with excellent English
Enjoys being client-facing and building relationships
Can take ownership and work autonomously
Has a commercial mindset and looks for ways to add value
Enjoys being part of a smaller, collaborative team
