Inframax is evolving its approach to Health & Safety, moving towards a more operationally embedded model where H&S is about more than compliance, systems and reporting.
We’re looking for two experienced Health & Safety Advisors who live in our local communities and want to take genuine ownership of an operational portfolio.
These are hands-on roles where you’ll work alongside operational leaders, supervisors and frontline teams to strengthen risk management, improve critical risk controls and provide practical advice where it matters most.
Two opportunities available
Health & Safety Advisor – Maintenance | Ōtorohanga & Te Kūiti
Based across our Ōtorohanga and Te Kūiti depots, you’ll support our maintenance operations and work closely with operational leaders, supervisors and frontline teams across the region.
Health & Safety Advisor – Construction & Quarries | Te Kūiti & King Country
Based in Te Kūiti, you’ll support our construction and quarry operations across the King Country, working across a diverse range of high-risk activities and environments.
Make a difference where it matters
These roles are designed for H&S professionals who want to be part of the operation – not sitting on the sidelines.
You’ll be visible in the field, working alongside the people delivering the work and helping teams identify risks, strengthen controls and make better decisions.
What you’ll be doing
Own your operational portfolio and build strong relationships with leaders and frontline teams
Conduct field inspections, audits and critical control verifications
Support work planning and risk management before work starts
Coach teams to build stronger risk management capability
Lead ICAM incident investigations and turn learnings into practical improvements
Provide practical advice and confidently challenge practices where required
Work with senior leaders through the Health & Safety Steering Group to help shape wider H&S priorities
About you
You’re an experienced H&S Advisor who understands that strong safety performance comes from capability, leadership and effective risk management - not paperwork alone.
You’ll bring:
A relevant Health & Safety qualification
Proven experience in civil construction, infrastructure, quarrying or another high-risk operational environment
Strong practical knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015
Experience with critical risk management, internal auditing and ICAM investigations
The confidence to work independently and take ownership of your portfolio
Strong communication skills and the ability to coach, influence and challenge people at all levels
A practical, solutions-focused approach and the ability to build trusted relationships
More than a compliance role
At Inframax, we want Health & Safety to be part of how we operate - not something that happens alongside the operation.
You’ll have the opportunity to influence how work is planned and delivered, helping our teams become better at identifying hazards, understanding risk and putting effective controls in place.
You’ll have strong support from management and a formal Health & Safety Steering Group involving senior leaders and the CEO, providing a direct connection between frontline experience, operational decision-making and company-wide H&S priorities.
