ALH is looking for experienced earthworks operators to join crews across West Auckland and Rodney. With long-term projects running throughout the earthworks season, this is an opportunity to put your skills to work and rack up solid hours.
We’re especially keen to hear from digger operators, but we also welcome applications from operators experienced on:
You’ll operate earthmoving equipment to support civil construction and bulk earthworks. Depending on your experience and assigned machine, duties may include excavation, loading out, material cartage, spreading, grading and compaction.
You’ll complete daily pre-start checks, report faults, follow site instructions and work safely alongside other operators and ground crews. A willingness to help the wider crew when required is essential.

- Moxys and articulated dump trucks
- Dozers
- Compactors and rollers
- Graders
- Scrapers
- Competitive pay based on your experience and ability.
- Long-term projects throughout the earthworks season.
- Typically 7am–6pm, with Saturday work too — opportunities for 50–60-hour weeks, subject to weather and site requirements.
- Support from an ALH team that stays connected and gets out onsite.

What we need from you
- Proven experience operating earthworks machinery.
- WTR endorsements — essential.
- Class 2 licence highly desirable, but not essential.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test.
- Your own reliable vehicle and transport to site.
- Availability for early starts, long days and Saturday work.
- Reliable attendance, punctuality and clear communication.
- A strong focus on safety and looking after your machine.
