You know your way around a manual lathe and mill. We know how to make it worth your while.

ABOUT US

THE ROLE

This is a hands-on production role where accuracy and craftsmanship matter. You will be setting up and operating manual centre lathes, milling machines, and related equipment to produce precision-machined components — working from engineering drawings and delivering to the quality standards our customers rely on. You will work within a skilled team, reporting to the Factory Foreman, and take genuine ownership of the quality and accuracy of everything that comes off your machine.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

To be considered, you will need:

- A trade qualification in Fitting and Turning, or an equivalent engineering discipline — or a minimum of five years' proven experience in a precision machining / job shop environment

- Proven competence setting up and operating manual centre lathes and milling machines independently

- Ability to read and work to engineering drawings and specified tolerances

- Legal right to live and work in New Zealand

- Availability for a face-to-face interview and practical skills assessment in Hamilton

It would be an advantage if you also have:

- Familiarity with precision measurement equipment and first-off inspection processes

- Experience in a job shop environment producing low-volume, high-variety components

- A positive approach to housekeeping, safe working practices, and continuous improvement

WHAT WE OFFER

- Permanent, stable role with an established and well-invested Hamilton business

- Competitive remuneration — we will pay the right rate for the right person

- A genuine team environment where your skill and craft are respected

- A well-equipped workshop with a variety of manual and CNC work centres

- Variety — we machine components across dairy, food and beverage, animal health, marine, automotive, gas, and medical industries

- Opportunity to grow your skills in a business that is actively investing in its people and processes
