About the role
We are recruiting two Class 2 Operators for one of New Zealand Labour Hire's biggest civil client in Auckland. These Class 2 Operators will be operating the Water Carts on site as well as Labouring in between using the truck. This role is for two separate sites, one in Mt Albert and the second in Newmarket. As a Class 2 Operator, you will be responsible for safely operating and managing light commercial vehicles whilst maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and safety compliance. This role is essential to our operations, ensuring timely and reliable delivery of goods and services to our clients.
What you'll be doing
Operating Class 2 water carts in compliance with all relevant legislation and company policies
Helping out with various civil labouring work in between operating the machine.
Conducting pre-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical soundness and safety compliance
Transporting goods safely and efficiently to designated locations within specified timeframes
Maintaining accurate records of journeys, fuel consumption and vehicle maintenance
Communicating effectively with dispatch and management regarding route progress and any issues encountered
Adhering to all Health and Safety requirements and defensive driving practices
What we're looking for
Current and valid Class 2 Driver Licence (New Zealand)
Proven experience operating light commercial vehicles in a professional capacity
Full working knowledge of Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 and relevant transport legislation
A clean driving record and commitment to road safety compliance
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Strong communication and customer service skills
Physical fitness and ability to lift and handle goods safely
Reliability and punctuality
Willingness to undertake ongoing professional development and training as required
Preferred: experience with vehicle maintenance and minor repairs
