About the Role – Mō te Tūranga
Alpine View and Burlington are looking for an experienced casual Healthcare Assistant / Village Support Aid to join their growing team! This role is to ensure annual leave and sick leave is covered when needed so will include weekend/weekday, and day/night shifts. Flexibility is key. This role is hands-on and varied, ensuring residents receive the highest standard of care and support every day.
Generally covering the following times if and when required:
· Village Support Aid: 6.30pm - 7.30am
· Healthcare Assistant Morning: 6.45am - 3.00pm
· Healthcare Assistant Afternoon: 2.45pm - 11.00pm
· Healthcare Assistant Overnight: 10.45pm - 7.00am
The Village Support Aid role is a sleep-over position. Your duties will be to attend to our residents in the apartments in the event of an emergency, first aid, evacuations or where support may be required as well as be the backup cover for our Health Care Assistant in our Pavilion/Lodge.
Key responsibilities include:
· Maintaining knowledge and practice in accordance with training, policies, and procedures
· Accurately identifying, documenting, and reporting changes in residents’ conditions to senior staff
· Completing timely and comprehensive documentation using our Qestral-developed clinical software
· Participating in annual competency reviews to ensure best practice
· Supporting Infection Prevention and Control strategies, including correct use of PPE
· Taking part in Health and Safety drills, training, and safety techniques.
About You – Ngā Kōrero Mōu
You’ll bring:
· A recognised Healthcare Assistant qualification (minimum NZ Level 1 or equivalent)
· At least 1 year of experience in the healthcare industry, aged care experience would also be advantageous
· Excellent communication skills and a caring, professional approach
· Confidence working in a sole-charge position overnight at the Pavilion/Lodge
· A flexible problem solver
· Motivation to be a valued team member and deliver a high standard of service and support for our residents

A valid work visa or rights to work in New Zealand
