The Role
We’re looking for someone to join our commercial team as a Quantity Surveyor, based at our Greytown office. We care more about finding the right person than ticking every box on a CV.
You might already be a QS looking for your next opportunity. Or you might have come up through the trades, run your own building business, or spent years on site. If you’re ready to combine your practical industry experience with a head for numbers, we’ll support you with the training and mentoring needed to grow into the role.
You’ll work alongside our QS Manager and project teams, both in the office and on site, helping keep projects on budget, on track and running smoothly.
What You’ll Do
Track project costs, variations and budgets from tender through to completion
Pick up the phone and build strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers
Get quotes, negotiate terms and sort out commercial issues as they come up
Have the hard conversations when needed, to get the job done
Support the tender process and prepare reports for the wider team
Get out on site to check progress and see the work first-hand
About You
Experience in the building industry, whether as a QS, a builder, a business owner or something similar
Confident with numbers and comfortable working in Excel (we can teach you the software)
A natural relationship builder who is happy picking up the phone
A practical problem-solver who stays calm when things get tricky
Comfortable having honest, straight-up conversations with subcontractors
Keen to learn, take on feedback and grow
You bring a good vibe to the office and enjoy being part of a team
