When was the last time you pushed the pedal to the metal?
At Maisey Harris & Co (MHCo), we bring energy, intent, and a fresh approach to everything we do. We’re not your typical accounting firm, and we like it that way.

A successful team beats with one heart. At MHCo, we believe great work thrives in a supportive, high-performing environment. We’re big on collaboration, backing each other, and genuinely enjoying the people we work with. Think team lunches, a few laughs along the way, and celebrating wins together.

The Role

We’re looking for an experienced Client Services and Practice Lead to join our team on a fixed-term basis of 15 months for parental leave cover, working full time from our Tauranga office.

This is a senior practice support role for someone who is used to taking ownership, solving problems, improving systems and getting things done. You’ll work closely with Management and the wider team across administration, finance, client services, systems and project work.

We’re looking for someone who can hit the ground running. You won’t need to be told what to do at every turn, you’ll be comfortable working things out, taking initiative and knowing when to bring Management into the conversation.

Does this sound like you?

You’re an experienced professional services administrator, practice coordinator, office manager or similar, ideally with experience in a lead or senior support role.

You’re highly organised, think ahead and are naturally good at figuring things out. When something isn’t working, you investigate, find a practical solution and get on with it.

You’re comfortable juggling competing priorities, working autonomously and taking ownership. You enjoy improving systems and processes and can pick up a project and run with it.

You’re also confident with financial administration, numbers and business systems, with experience in areas such as billing, accounts receivable, payroll and reporting.

Most importantly, you’re positive, personable and solutions-focused, with the confidence to work effectively with clients, colleagues and Management

What you’ll be doing

  • Taking ownership of the day-to-day administrative and operational support of the office

  • Working closely with Management and supporting the wider team

  • Being a key point of contact for clients, including phone, email and reception

  • Managing accounts receivable and debtor follow-up

  • Supporting payroll, billing and monthly billing processes

  • Preparing proposals, invoices and reports

  • Maintaining client records, databases and practice information

  • Managing Companies Office requirements and assisting with tax return filing

  • Supporting meetings, marketing initiatives and events

  • Championing internal systems and identifying opportunities for improvement

  • Taking ownership of projects and business improvement initiatives

  • Investigating and resolving administrative or operational issues

  • Providing general support to Management as priorities arise

What you’ll bring

  • 5+ years’ experience in senior administration, practice management, office management, practice coordination or a similar professional services role

  • Experience working in a professional services environment, ideally accounting, legal, consulting or similar

  • Experience in a lead or senior support role, with the ability to work autonomously

  • Strong problem-solving, initiative and critical-thinking skills

  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines

  • Confidence taking on projects and improving processes

  • Strong financial administration capability

  • Experience with Xero and/or MYOB would be an advantage

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Outlook and Word

  • Excellent attention to detail and communication skills

  • A collaborative, positive and solutions-focused approach

Family is one of our core values at MHCo, and we’re big believers in work-life balance. We work hard, support each other, and enjoy the journey along the way.

If you’re an experienced professional services operator who loves solving problems, improving things and making life easier for everyone around you, we’d love to hear from you.
