About Us
At Walter & Wild, we're proud to be one of New Zealand's leading food manufacturers, home to some of the country's most loved brands. As a Kiwi-owned business with big ambitions, we combine the scale to make a real impact with a down-to-earth, collaborative culture.

The Role
We're looking for a practical, hands-on Facilities & Compliance Lead who is just as comfortable picking up the tools and fixing a site issue as they are managing contractors, compliance documentation and Council requirements across our 4 Auckland sites in Mangere.

This is a varied role where no two days are the same. One day you could be coordinating contractors and managing building compliance requirements, the next you could be resolving site issues, carrying out maintenance work, supporting environmental compliance or liaising with Council, Watercare, suppliers and auditors.

You'll be the go-to person for facilities-related activity, ensuring our sites remain safe, compliant, well-maintained and operating smoothly while working closely with Operations, Engineering and Health & Safety.

This is a full time, on-site, permanent, salaried role working Monday to Friday (7am – 3:30pm) with the occasional weekend work when required.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Coordinating building compliance requirements, including BWOF, fire systems, emergency lighting, inspections and compliance records
  • Maintaining compliance schedules, registers, certifications and corrective action plans
  • Carrying out minor repairs, and day-to-day maintenance and hands-on facilities work across our sites
  • Managing contractors, permits, inductions, documentation and site access
  • Coordinating maintenance requests, servicing and minor building works
  • Managing facilities budgets, supplier relationships, quotes, purchase orders and service agreements
  • Coordinating waste, recycling, pest control, cleaning and environmental services
  • Supporting site security, access systems
  • Driving site standards, workplace services and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Partnering with Operations, Engineering and Health & Safety to minimise disruptions and manage facilities-related risks
What You'll Bring
  • Experience in facilities management, property services, site services, maintenance planning, contractor coordination and compliance administration
  • Strong understanding of contractor management, permits to work, risk controls and building compliance
  • Hands-on and practical, with the ability to carry out light repairs and tackle day-to-day site issues
  • Experience coordinating maintenance, inspections, servicing schedules and compliance documentation
  • Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with contractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Confidence using spreadsheets, email, calendars, purchase orders and records management systems
  • Experience in manufacturing, FMCG, logistics, industrial, trades or multi-site environments will be highly regarded
  • Relevant facilities, property, trades, health & safety or compliance qualifications would be advantageous
Desirable Certifications
  • Working at Heights / Harness Training
  • Elevated Work Platform (EWP) licences, including Scissor Lift and Knuckle Boom
  • Permit Issuer certification
  • Forklift Counterbalance licence
Why Apply?
  • Supportive, down-to-earth team culture
  • Genuine opportunity to make improvements and drive change
  • Training, development and long-term career opportunities
  • Competitive salary package
If you're a practical problem solver who enjoys keeping sites running safely, efficiently and compliantly, we'd love to hear from you.
