Love veterinary nursing? Ready for a change of pace?

Build your career, enjoy a brilliant lifestyle, and be part of a team that has your back.

We’re looking for an experienced Veterinary Nurse to join our friendly, supportive companion animal team in Thames, working 3–5 days a week. We’re flexible for the right person!

Why Anexa? Why Thames?

At Anexa Veterinary Services, we believe great veterinary care starts with great people. You’ll join a close-knit team that supports one another, enjoys a laugh, and takes pride in doing the best for our patients and their people.

We’re big on continuous professional development and believe growth looks different for everyone. We’ll work with you to support your learning goals, interests and career ambitions, while aligning development with the services we provide and the needs of our clinic. Whether you want to build on your existing strengths or develop new skills, we’ll support you to keep learning and growing.

And then there’s life outside the clinic! Thames is the gateway to the Coromandel, with beautiful beaches, hiking, water sports, arts and a relaxed, welcoming community. You can enjoy the best of the outdoors while remaining within reasonable reach of Hamilton, Auckland and Tauranga, keeping you connected to the wider Golden Triangle.

What you'll be doing

This is a hands-on, varied role where your skills and initiative will make a real difference. You’ll be involved in:

  • Surgical nursing and anaesthetic monitoring

  • Hospital care, patient admissions and discharges

  • Supporting consultations and delivering great patient care

  • Maintaining equipment and helping the clinic run smoothly

  • Building positive client relationships through enquiries, phone calls and everyday interactions

What we're looking for

Ideally, you’ll have at least two years’ veterinary nursing experience, a calm and confident approach, and the ability to keep things moving in a busy clinic. You’ll be proactive, compassionate, personable and enjoy being part of a team that works hard and supports each other.

Our Thames clinic operates Monday to Friday, 8am–5pm, with rostered Saturday mornings. We’re looking for someone to join us 4–5 days a week, with flexibility for the right person.

Ready for your next chapter?
