About the role

Capstone is a small, growing development and project management firm. You will own day-to-day delivery of our development and construction projects. This currently includes a portfolio of large industrial construction projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead projects from feasibility and design through consenting, procurement, construction and handover

• Manage consultants, contractors and suppliers, including RFQs, tender evaluation and contract administration (NZS 3910 / 3915 / 3916)

• Run project control group (PCG) meetings and prepare monthly client reports

• Own the programme, budget, risk register and cost reporting for each project

• Own health, safety and wellbeing (HSW) compliance and oversight across all projects, including site safety plans, contractor pre-qualification, site inspections, and incident reporting under the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015

• Manage consents and approvals with Auckland Council (building consent, resource consent, engineering approval, CCC)

• Be the main day-to-day contact for clients and stakeholders

• Support the Director with fee proposals and bids for new work

• Brief and direct the Admin Support contractor

About you

• 2+ years in development or project management in NZ construction

• Knowledge of construction contracts

• Practical experience managing HSW on construction sites, including PCBU duties and overlapping duties with contractors

• Confident with programmes, budgets and client reporting, including experience with Microsoft Project or similar scheduling software

• Clear communicator who can manage several projects at once

• Comfortable working in a small team with high autonomy

• Relevant tertiary qualification (construction management, engineering, law, finance or similar) preferred

• Full NZ driver's licence and the right to work in NZ
