About the role
This is a hands-on outdoor role covering a mix of regular lawn mowing and general gardening work for residential and commercial customers. Approximately 70–80% of the work is lawn mowing and lawn maintenance, with around 20–30% gardening and property maintenance. Some larger jobs will be completed as part of a team, while on other days you may be given a schedule of jobs to complete independently.
Key responsibilities
- Regular residential and commercial lawn mowing
- Line trimming, edging and blowing down paths and outdoor areas
- Weeding and general garden maintenance
- Hedge trimming and pruning
- Garden clean-ups
- Green waste removal
- Occasional tree work and tree removals
- Identifying additional work customers may need, such as garden maintenance, hedge trimming, gutter cleaning or other property services
- Providing friendly, professional service to customers
- Looking after equipment and following safe working practices
About you
- At least 2 years' practical gardening experience
- Confident working independently and managing jobs without constant supervision
- Experience operating lawnmowers, line trimmers and garden blowers
- Good practical knowledge of gardening, pruning, weeding and general garden maintenance
- Physically fit and comfortable with demanding outdoor work, including lifting and carrying heavy bags of green waste and loading/unloading equipment
- Reliable, punctual and able to manage a daily schedule
- Good customer service and communication skills
- Able to identify opportunities where we can provide additional services to customers
- Strong health and safety awareness
- A full driver's licence
