DDL Goodrick Contracting are well-established, locally owned contractors with more than 30 years in Rotorua, delivering drainage, earthworks, civil infrastructure and telecommunications projects.
We’re looking for an experienced estimator to join our small, close-knit estimating team and help us secure the right work at the right price.
The role: You’ll take ownership of estimates and tender submissions, working closely with our operations team to develop practical methodologies, accurate pricing and compelling proposals.
Your work will include:
Reviewing drawings, specifications and contract requirements.
Completing quantity take-offs and building estimates.
Obtaining and evaluating supplier and subcontractor pricing.
Identifying scope gaps, risks, opportunities, assumptions and exclusions.
Writing tender responses, methodologies and non-price attributes.
Testing delivery methods, resources and production rates with operations.
Managing submission deadlines and handing successful tenders over to delivery.
Reviewing tender outcomes and project feedback to improve future pricing.
About you
You’re an experienced estimator who understands how construction work gets delivered and what it really costs.
You’ll bring:
Experience estimating civil, drainage, earthworks, utilities or related construction work.
Strong numerical ability, commercial judgement and attention to detail.
Confidence using Excel and estimating systems.
The ability to write clear, well-structured tender responses.
Good organisation and ownership of deadlines.
The confidence to challenge assumptions and work through solutions with the delivery team.
You don’t need experience across every part of our business, but you do need a sound estimating foundation and a practical approach.
