About Us
Humbug Lighting is a locally owned outdoor lighting company serving Fort Mill, Rock Hill, Lake Wylie, Indian Land, Waxhaw, and surrounding communities. We specialize in professional landscape lighting, permanent roofline lighting, and holiday lighting for residential and commercial properties.
We're growing and looking for an experienced, dependable Outdoor Lighting Technician who takes pride in quality workmanship and wants to be part of building something great.
Job Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot low-voltage landscape lighting systems, including transformers, wiring, fixtures, and connections.
- Install permanent LED roofline lighting systems on residential and commercial properties.
- Perform holiday lighting installations, maintenance, and removals as needed.
- Read lighting designs and installation plans to ensure proper fixture placement and professional results.
- Diagnose and repair lighting issues, including wiring problems, faulty connections, and malfunctioning fixtures.
- Safely operate ladders, lifts, power tools, and installation equipment.
- Maintain clean, organized job sites and provide a professional customer experience.
- Work independently or alongside a small installation crew to complete projects efficiently.
Qualifications
Required:
- Previous hands-on experience installing low-voltage landscape lighting systems or similar.
- Knowledge of basic electrical principles, low-voltage wiring, transformers, and lighting components.
- Comfortable working outdoors, on ladders, and at heights.
- Ability to troubleshoot installation and maintenance issues.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Strong attention to detail, dependability, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting equipment and working in varying weather conditions.
Preferred:
- Experience installing permanent LED roofline lighting systems, such as Gemstone, Trimlight, or similar products.
- Experience with architectural, commercial, or holiday lighting installations.
- Familiarity with smart lighting controllers and programmable LED systems.
- Experience leading installation crews or managing projects independently.

Compensation: $25.00 - $40.00 per hour
