Like the idea of a job where no two days look the same? One minute you're on the forklift loading a truck, the next you're booking in a delivery or helping a customer at the counter. If you enjoy staying busy and turning your hand to a bit of everything, you'll fit right in.
Reporting to the Branch Manager at our Hornby branch, you'll keep the yard, the forklift and the front counter ticking over - making sure product is where it needs to be and out the gate on time.
What you'll be doing
- Operating the forklift to move, stack, load and store product safely (including concrete and PVC)
- Loading and unloading trucks and customer vehicles, and keeping deliveries and paperwork on track
- Yard and stock control - stocktakes, cycle counts, receiving inwards goods, and keeping the yard tidy and secure
- Helping customers at the counter with sales, quotes and phone enquiries
What you'll bring
- A full NZ (Class 1) driver's licence
- A forklift F endorsement - or the drive to get one; we'll support the right person to gain it
- Some yard, forklift or hands-on experience, and happy working at pace
- A friendly, helpful way with customers
- Comfortable using a computer for stock, invoicing and orders
- The fitness to stay active all day and handle product up to around 20kg
- Industry product knowledge is a bonus, not a must - we'll teach you the rest
