About this role

Are you a natural organiser with a warm heart and a passion for helping people? We'd love to hear from you!

At Auckland Breast Centre, we understand that every patient's journey is personal. Behind every appointment, procedure and conversation is someone who deserves to feel supported, reassured and cared for.

We're looking for a compassionate, organised and proactive Surgical Coordinator to join our dedicated team in Auckland.

This is a permanent part-time position, working 24 hours per week across Monday to Friday, offering an opportunity to make a meaningful difference while enjoying a reduced-hours working week.

As our Surgical Coordinator, you'll be an important part of the patient journey, working closely with our surgeons, nurses and wider clinical team to ensure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. From coordinating surgical appointments to helping patients navigate their care, your attention to detail and caring approach will make a real difference.

If you're someone who enjoys bringing order to a busy day, thrives on teamwork and genuinely loves helping others, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

Responsibilities

As our Surgical Coordinator, you'll play a key role in keeping our surgical services running smoothly. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating surgical, clinical and diagnostic appointments to ensure a seamless patient experience.
  • Supporting our surgeons and nursing team with bookings, documentation and administrative requirements.
  • Being a friendly, professional and reassuring point of contact for patients and their families.
  • Managing surgical correspondence, patient enquiries and appointment information with care and confidentiality.
  • Preparing surgical documentation, quotations, approvals and billing information.
  • Maintaining accurate patient records across our management systems.
  • Working closely with colleagues to keep things organised, efficient and running smoothly.

Skills and experience

We're looking for someone who combines excellent organisational skills with a genuine passion for patient care. You'll bring:

  • Previous experience in reception, administration or a coordination role, ideally within a healthcare environment.
  • Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to juggle competing priorities.
  • A warm, empathetic communication style that puts patients at ease.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office and learning new systems.
  • A strong understanding of the importance of privacy, discretion and confidentiality.
  • A proactive, adaptable attitude and a willingness to lend a hand wherever needed.
  • A collaborative approach and a genuine enjoyment of working as part of a team.

Most importantly, we're looking for someone who cares. Someone who understands that even the smallest interactions can make a big difference to a patient and their family.

Benefits

  • 5 weeks of annual leave to recharge
  • An extra Canopy Day Off each year to use however you want
  • Enhanced parental leave and sick leave benefits
  • Health perks like free and discounted health services
  • Comprehensive training to grow your skills and career
  • A supportive, friendly team that’s always ready to help
