About the role
This is a 6-month initial fixed-term opportunity for an experienced sales operator to take ownership of the domestic market and actively grow market share. You'll be walking into bottle stores, restaurants and bars in an in-person role with no remote or work-from-home component, with a stronger focus on identifying and winning new business, not just servicing existing accounts. Hours are approximately 20 per week, with flexibility on which days and hours are worked.
Key responsibilities
Identify and pursue new trade accounts — bottle stores, restaurants, bars and independents — to expand Soljans' domestic footprint
Build and run your own call cycle, visiting existing and prospective trade customers in person
Negotiate listings, promotions and shelf/menu placement directly with buyers and owners
Maintain a clear view of your pipeline and report on wins, opportunities and market feedback
Work with the cellar door and wider team to keep messaging and promotional activity aligned and support where needed
About you
Proven experience in sales — ideally FMCG, beverage or wine trade — with a demonstrated record of growing accounts or market share
Confident, credible negotiator who can hold their own with experienced buyers
Able to build and manage your own territory and call cycle without close supervision
Full, current New Zealand driver's licence and reliable transport for regular travel across Auckland trade accounts
Available in person for approximately 20 hours per week across the 6-month term, with opportunity for extension.
