Junior Estimator / Quantity Surveyor – Engineering Fabrication Projects

About the role
Manson Engineering is looking for a practical and detail-oriented Junior Estimator / Quantity Surveyor / Draftsperson to join the team in Henderson. You'll be pricing, planning and providing design input for aluminium and steel fabrication projects across marine, civil, and architectural sectors for our Manson Engineering, Manson Projects and Exo Louvre Systems divisions. Projects are custom, one-off, and technically interesting.

You’ll collaborate with our design, workshop, and project management teams to prepare competitive quotes, review drawings, and maintain cost accuracy.

What you’ll do

  • Analyse drawings and specifications to prepare accurate costings

  • Develop clear work scopes and take-offs using Excel

  • Assist with drafting and design using CAD software

  • Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors for competitive pricing

  • Submit tenders, manage quote timeframes, and update the CRM

  • Support project handover from sales to production

  • Communicate clearly with project managers and clients

What you’ll bring

  • Positive and practical mindset

  • Keeness to develop estimating skills within engineering or construction

  • Confident interpreting technical drawings

  • Strong Excel skills and general systems knowledge

  • Clear communication, attention to detail, and time management

  • Familiarity with engineering, fabrication processes or structural steelwork is a bonus

  • CAD or SolidWorks skills a plus
