About the role

TOTAL CONTAINERS is seeking a talented Graduate Mechanical Engineer / Draftsperson to join our modifications team in Wattleup, Western Australia. The role will support our sales, production and workshop teams by turning customer requirements into clear, practical and manufacture-ready drawings and solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret customer RFQs, specifications and technical requirements

• Prepare workshop and fabrication drawings

• Re-draw or refine customer-supplied drawings for manufacture

• Assist with concepts and technical information for quotations

• Liaise with customers on technical and specification-related queries

• Assist with practical problem solving during quoting and production

• Support the workshop with technical and fabrication queries

• Assist the Production Coordinator and Workshop Manager with job card preparation and scheduling

• Identify potential design or fabrication issues before production

What we're looking for

• Mechanical Engineering degree or relevant drafting/design qualification

• Alternatively, practical drafting or fabrication experience

• Ability to read and interpret engineering and fabrication drawings

• CAD/drafting experience

• Experience with SketchUp or similar software highly regarded

• Understanding of fabrication or manufacturing processes advantageous

• Strong attention to detail and general computer skills

• Technically minded with strong problem-solving skills

• Confident communicating with customers, office staff and workshop teams

• Organised and able to manage multiple priorities
